As Christmas was drawing near we decided to run a Christmas-themed event on 13th December 2023. We partnered with the team at Future Foundry to ensure we had enough helpers and creativity for everyone.
In the morning, we had some cardmaking and some ceramic decoration making. The ceramic table is always very popular, so everyone got stuck in thinking up designs that would look good around the house for Christmas.
We stopped for a tasty lunch, with lots of sweet treats too. Then, we started on some snow globe making. There was glitter and glue everywhere! Some of the group decided they wanted to finish off their ceramic creations, so they went and finished them off.
At the end of the day, we called a raffle. One of the group commented that it was “the best raffle” she had ever seen. There were larger prizes including an air fryer (Rik was thrilled to
finally have one), a tablet and some very adorable fox slippers (Jess was so happy to win them). Then, before it was time to pack up, Father Christmas dropped by with some gifts for everyone! Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas!
All in all, everyone who attended had a lovely time, and we all got to experiment with making snow globes. We all learnt that if we were to make them again, we would need some sturdier globes, and more glue to seal the bottom to prevent leakages.
